Students at the University of PNG are still boycotting classes and continued on with their sit-in protest.The students unanimously said they will NOT attend classes unless Prime Minister Peter ONeill receive their petition in person.
A team of government delegation went to the campus yesterday to receive the petition but were rejected by the students.
The Team promised to get back to the students today, after consulting the prime minister, but there are no sign of them.
Student Representative Council Presidents of both UNITECH and UPNG told local media that protest will continue.
Meanwhile, students at the University of Technology also conducted its referendum today.
Meantime, the UNITECH SRC President David Kelma canceled his flight to Lae this morning, and joined the UPNG sit-in protest with the hope that the government team will get back to them as promised.
